How did Campus Outreach get to Minneapolis?
In Decmber of 2000 Campus Outreach hosted a Global Christmas Conference in Atlanta, GA. We asked Pastor John Piper from Bethlehem Baptist Chruch, in Minneapolis, MN to be our key-note speaker to our students. We desired that Pastor Piper's messages of the supremacy of Jesus Christ in all things, that God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him, the need for the Gospel to go to the end of the earth, etc. ... would impact our students for a lifetime. We saw these desires come true in so many students lives. While at the conference, Pastor Piper also began talking with our directors about the potential of having Campus Outreach come to his church to minister to college students in the Twin Cities. After two years of much prayer and discussion, we determined it was God's will to send a team from Campus Outreach Greenville, under the authority of Mitchell Road Presbyterian Church, to begin a new franchise at Bethlehem Baptist Church called Campus Outreach Minneapolis.
In August of 2003, 9 staff moved to Minneapolis, MN to being this new franchise. Currently we have 17 full time staff ministering on 3 campuses in the Twin Cities.
