Paul Poteat opened our Winter Retreat by talking about gospel misconceptions. There are 4 misconceptions of the gospel that we tend to believe:
- The gospel is basic
- The gospel is a one-time event
- The gospel is a call to performance
- The gospel is “free”
College Connection: Little Christian Words – Intro

Paul Poteat opened up the series for downtown Sunday School (now called College Connection) on Little Christian Words. This semester they will look at words like: peace, love, joy, gentle, humble, etc. College Connection starts at 10am on Sunday mornings at BBC Downtown Campus.

Let’s be honest, evangelism is scary. Nothing evokes fear like telling people about your faith and nothing prevents us from telling people about our faith like fear. People often look for the best method, for answers to tough questions, for the perfect lead in to a conversation, thinking that these are the “silver bullets” that will make evangelism easier and less gut-wrenching. The goal of this seminar is to address the ultimate barrier to talking about your faith in Jesus Christ: Fear.
U of M COW – Pursuit of Happiness: Sex and Intimacy, Part I

For our weekly meeting at the U of M, we continued our series on the pursuit of happiness with a talk on Sex and Intimacy. The world promises that these things will bring happiness. Not only do they not bring happiness, but they rob us of happiness that can only be found in relationship with Jesus Christ. Part 2 will be coming in a few weeks.
