Training

Tonight, Theme Night

Last Night Josh Schrock had the opportunity to lead Bible Training. His topic was Bible Interpretation. Josh shared with us that it is easy to wrongly interpret the Bible when one does not focus on Christ. "We need to confess our sinfulness, and then repent from it." "Look at the context and let's interpret the Bible with the Bible."After Bible Training, it was team time. These times are for the students to have fellowship after a long day of work. Most of the time, teams either play games, share some goodies or just chill and hang-out. Tonight is Theme Night. Mike Polley will be talking about "Discipleship: God's pursuit for exiles." Therefore, we would appreciate if you pray for Mike and the students. -We would encourage you to watch the testimonies. If they do not appear on the window please click on "Older Entries" so you will be able to see the videos from the past weeks-

Broadway at the Beach

Today the CCP group is organizing an adventure for today's social. Students are going to be sent to Broadway Beach on a scavenger hunt. However, the catch is that CCP members are going to be hiding in different places around Broadway. Therefore, teams are going to be rewarded if they find any of the CCP members. In regards of the talk from yesterday at Evangelism Training by James Gisler, please watch this powerful video of Matt Chandler:

Christ and Faith

Today, Wednesday, the CCP group joined the Team Leaders and the Room Leaders for today's Seminar led by Adam Evers. Adam shared about Confrontation among the disciples."It made me realized how much I idolize relationships" said Michael Owczarek, one of the room leaders, "It was a helpful talk."

As for the afternoon, James Gisler shared "The Message, Part II" with us. James talked about the importance of having Jesus in our sharing time. "If we do not talk about Jesus, the message is pointless."

After evangelism time, the students had their campus time where the challenge was to think and pray for those who are back in Minnesota who do not know about Christ.

the "t" in tuesday is for theme

Elliot Stokes, CO staff for Northwestern College and the leader for the CCP team here, will be giving the theme training today. He will unpack more on what it means for a Christian to be an exile in this world. As mentioned, Garden City Baptist (GCB) has been burned down, so Theme Training will be meeting at the Garden City Chapel (GCC) tonight. For the time being, the people at GCC have graciously offered to let project use their facilities during the week.

During Bible Study Training, Jack Thompson shared that studying the Bible is worship, and that it is a process that takes time and discipline. Disciples also got a chance to walk through 1Peter 3:1-2 together.

the day after father's day

This week's theme is "Heaven, Homecoming for an Exile."Matt Reagan started this week with a session on spiritual depression and doubt. The rest of the day was fairly slow but relaxing. Many of the disciples took naps or swam in the pool. Paul Poteat and Zach Simmons led Praise and Worship this evening, after which Jon Saunders shared and answered questions with some of the other staff members. Don't forget to check out the <week's highlights video> uploaded last week. There are two new recordings, one from <Life Training> and the other from the <Parent's Social>, along with a slew of other new content. Leaders Training - Your Life is Your Pulpit

Every Wednesday morning the leaders on beach project meet for leaders training.  This summer Charlie Brooks has been teaching about how It's not about you (you can't save anyone or make anyone grow), but it includes you (God uses people to advance the gospel in others' hearts).  This week's talk was on how your life is your best pulpit - people are going to learn and grow the most from your life rather than what you teach them with your words. Theme Night - Gospel for Exiles

Matt Reagan shared with us on Monday night about the gospel of grace.  The gospel is a celebration, but we are unwilling to celebrate (Isaiah 30:15) because of our deceitful hearts.  We want to work for our salvation, but Jesus says in John 6:29 "this is the work of God, that you believe in the One He has sent" [display_podcast]

Day of Worship

Today, Sunday, the project attended Church as usual. Moreover, this morning we had our third Life Training Seminar. Matt Reagan  taught about being free by God and enjoying the great things that He has made for our pleasure. After Matt shared what God gave him to speak, we were challenged by Andrew Knight to meditate and ask each other what things in our lives stop us from enjoying God freely, and the things that are in our power that we are abusing by our freedom.

the "e" in wednesday stands for evangelism

It rained overnight but this morning is looking to be nice and sunny. Paul Poteat will once again instruct the disciples in Evangelism Training. Later this evening, there are a few group dates planned as well, so it is presumable to understand that today will hold much entertainment. Ken Currie and his wife Teresa concluded their session on maintaining Christ honoring relationships last night. They focused on the need of a healthy relationship with God and submission to one another in any marriage (Ephesians 5). The recording from the night are in the works for those who are interested.
