Resource Update

Believing in the Intro

You know the “Skip Intro” button? The one that comes up when you are watching your favorite show on Netflix? The one that allows you to leap past the credits of all the people that made the show possible so that you can get to the good stuff? I am so happy that Campus Outreach does not have a “Skip Intro” button.

It has been a joy to labor with the Resource Team for the past four years, and taking the role of Resource Director this spring has shown me more than ever how integral the credits are to a show or a movie - and a ministry. As a Campus Staff, I knew the Resource Team did a lot, but I did not realize how much they did to set me up well for the campus and life in general. I am thankful that our Leadership Team and current campus staff are wiser than I was - giving true appreciation for how God uses the giftings of different people to expand his kingdom.

Our Interns: Jared Teckmeyer (Finance) and Cailie Bruxvoort (Communications)

Our Resource Team has been growing with new staff and new interns with administrative gifts, and together we have been able to enable and empower our campus staff with the tools and resources they need to facilitate students’ encounters with Jesus. We are helping people to recognize and celebrate that they can be a part of kingdom advancement in backstage ways. From revamping our support processing, to updating our communications, to renovating our office, our team has been hard at work glorifying God. Even though we are behind the scenes, we believe and know that our work is necessary for “the good stuff” to happen in students’ hearts.

Like our campus teams, our Resource Team has also gone back to the basics. We have chosen to emphasize our reliance on God by valuing prayer over task. Each meeting we spend extended time in prayer recognizing our dependence on the Father. We know that,

“Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.”

—Psalm 127:1.

Please join us in praying for

  • our team to be in healthy support positions that fosters longevity on staff

  • new staff to join our team to allow us to better serve students and staff

  • our team to remember that although we are not the star of the show, we serve the one who is
