That his name might be known among every tribe, nation, and tongue
we must be global christians with a global vision because our god is a global god.
–John Stott
We believe God is clear in his word that to follow Christ is to be commissioned to join him in actively making disciples from our local contexts, all the way to the ends of the earth.
Here are some next steps to Consider:
Discuss Your Interest – Meet with a CO Staff or pastor at church to talk about your interest in overseas missions. How can you take small steps now in your current context?
Read Books About Missions – “Let the Nations be Glad,” Missionary biographies, “What Are You Going To Do with Your Life?,” or ask a pastor or staff for recommendations.
Pray for the Nations – Create a habit of praying for the nations. Ask others to start a prayer group. Use Operation World or Joshua Project as a daily guide.
See God’s Heart for the World – Go through a missions Bible study to see more of God’s heart for the world through all of scripture. Go through the Traveling Team’s Beginner’s Guide to Global Impact. Take a class like Perspectives to learn more.
Continue Being Developed – Consider joining the Nurture Program at The North Church or Bethlehem Baptist Church. Seek opportunities with CO or your church to practice sharing your faith.
Consider Going – Investigate overseas opportunities like Cross Cultural Project each summer with CO, short term missions trips through your church, or serving two years after graduation with CO LEAD.
Prayerfully consider: How you can best contribute to God’s global mission? How can you leverage your strengths, gifts, and career for the glory of God and in a strategic location for the mission of God?
Post-Graduation Opportunities
CO LEAD
LEAD is Campus Outreach’s initial international staff experience — a two year commitment to serve in a strategic global location within the Campus Outreach International Network. LEAD Staff advance the local gospel movement in these locations by building authentic relationships with students and contributing to the ongoing ministry of evangelism and discipleship. Staff are challenged and equipped to develop in maturity and leadership as they grow into lifelong laborers in God’s global work.
GO CORPS
Go Corps serves as a connection between college graduates and strategic global opportunities in their career field. With global opportunities in virtually every career field, explore how you might invest your first two years after graduation in advancing God’s kingdom.
ELIC
ELIC invests in people around the globe by equipping and sending individuals and families to teach English in Asia, the Middle East, and North Africa. We believe that education opens doors to change lives, and we want to be a part of that!
Join Global Partners
The North Church and Bethlehem Baptist Church have global partners and relationships all over the world! Consider how you could partner with them by going, or by supporting them through Barnabas Teams.
