In this talk, Dan Grano ask the question, "What happens to create life in a non-believer?", and delves into what God's sovereignty means and the implications that God's sovereignty has on evangelism.
During this talk Dan Grano talks about success and how we are free to act and engage people about faith because we are free to succeed in Christ. Dan unpacks this further by talking about different situations in which success can be found in evangelism, even if we don’t see them as successes.
Dan Grano addresses the need for evangelism in this talk. He begins it by talking about a move in which the characters cry “Give us Free”. He uses this phrase as a spring board to jump into how people are enslaved to the world and to sin, and only through Christ can they be freed.
Dan Grano shares a little of his previous project experience and how God has worked in his life through his time at college and his summers at STP.
In this talk, Dan walked us through the story of Elijah when he challenged the prophets of Baal in 1 Kings 18-19. Elijah showed both great courage in the Lord and in trusting the Lord to show Himself when he challenged the prophets of Baal, but he also showed great fear in running from Queen Jezebel when he saw that God's mighty miracle did not cause the whole nation to repent. Dan drew out a number of comforts from the story: 1. God is more committed to His glory than we are. 2. God will break your arm to show you more of Himself. 3. All things work together for your good if you are in Christ and called according to His purposes.
Conclusion: Take "risks"! Our God is Yahweh, so jump into the story.
Dan shared with us about the servant-hearted, humble leadership of Epaphroditus who worked with Paul. He travelled 800 miles to bring support to Paul while he was in prison. Dan challenged us to be like Epaphroditus, servant-hearted, humble, plodding visionaries.
Dan speaks to us about the story of David and Bathsheba and draws out the Biblical principles behind repentance and humility in leadership. 2 Samuel 11-12
Dan shares the glory of God through a Louie Giglio video that explains the sounds that all creation is making to praise God. He explains that as God's creation we are meant to seek glory, not for ourselves, but for God. Link for the video here.
Dan explains to us what theology is. He describes it as scripture applied to life which helps us love people better. Dan then explained the purpose of our words and their power. The final portion of his talk was looking at three specific applications of theology in relationships: encouragement, restoration, and sarcasm.
